Okay, so today was a mild day in Vegas and I even got to relax in a hot tub during a downpour, but Christmas? I am just not ready to grasp the concept.

I can't even get excited for the Halloween Spirit store that will be opening by our Target.  IT'S HOT!!!  And right now HUMID!!!  Holidays?

Okay, this is what I came up with...

For one of my 51 cent pieces of scrap wood (the other pieces are MUCH bigger).  It's cute, I may need to live with it for a while.  I love that the wood is baldy bowed.  Character, I say.

B's and mine are done.  (His took a LOOOOONG time.)  Tonight will be Ivan for sure, Ro I attempted to get his hand awake AND asleep...  Yeah...  Still yet to make it work.

Okay, it does really look as cool as I hoped...

Remember the original idea-

This will be a mixed media idea, but this nail/embroidery thread effect looks pretty cool.

But I'll change it up a bit, you know that.  I saw a similar one on House by Novogratz.  I like their style, I love their sense of family/relationship/career.  They make something that should be high stress and unsuccessful look so EASY!!!  But they installed a similar sign to this in a families beach condo, and I love how you can recognize where the letters are from.

I will create something similar, and smaller, using a 2 x 4 scrap (all hand-painted of course).  I have discovered scrap wood at Home Depot for 51 cents a piece, way cheaper than canvases and finished wood pieces at the craft stores!

It's a start...

And I wish I could say it was Ivan's needle work, but it is not.  It's mine.  I'M LEARNING!!!

Looky what I made!!!

I decided the game area (i.e. formal dining room) needed a punch of color, and a punch of depth.  I don't know why, but I thought tissue paper flowers.  But I don't know how to make those.  Well,  DIDN'T know until I found a how to video on YouTube.  2 minutes later, I WAS A PRO!!!

You can see the black and white I LOVE!!!  (From Hobby Lobby.)  And a shot of red.

What do yo think?  I'm not a floral person, but I love this.  It reminds me of the wall Kevin did on Design Star (that was my true inspiration, but needed color).

My Project this Weekend

I saw this on another blog and LOVE it.

I have a piece of felt that looks a little tweedy, and it JUST FITS B's hand, hee hee.  I don't necessarily know how to embroider, but I have my aunt and my mom on my side, and I've done enough needle work, it should be okay.
